The members of Maroon 5 grew up together. The group was influenced by jazz. Maroon 5 began performing at the local bar Tradition. The lead singer was encouraged to play by his high school teacher.
Maroon 5’s first album was a dud, but the second finally got some exposure. The groupplays plenty of arenas, but would rather play in the smaller venues in which they began. Maroon 5 was discovered while joking around, performing on the street one day. The group members were excited once they were signed and quit their odd jobs that had supported them while they worked toward their dreams.
Maroon 5 knew that they had a real chance to become a headlining national act in 1981, after Mary Baca started the group’s first fan club. After the band’s first North American tour, the fan club grew from the couple dozen fans who heard the band play around Sacramento to the thousands who heard them play all across the country.
Maroon 5 hope to collaborate with other artists during this tour. The group may have recently finished their most current project, but they are thinking of what is to come next. The newest project from Maroon 5 is a refinement of their established sound.
