Rod Stewart, was born Roderick David Stewart, on January 10, 1945. Rod Stewart is best recognized for his raspy voice. Rod Stewart has been making music since the 1960’s and over his career has had 14 albums reach #1 and 11 singles hit #1. Some of his famous #1 singles included “Maggie May”, “Tonight’s the Night”, “This Old Heart of Mine”, “Have I Told You Lately”, and of course “Do You Think I’m Sexy”.

In the early years of his career, Stewart was in the Jeff Beck Group where he played with Ronnie Wood, who is currently with the Rolling Stones. When the Jeff Beck Group broke up Stewart and Wood joined the band The Faces. They had a similar sound to The Rolling Stones and gained a strong following. During his time with The Faces, Stewart was also working on his solo career and this led to some tension within the band since Stewart’s solo career and albums were doing better then The Faces material. The band officially broke up in 1975.

During this time Stewart moved to the US and even applied for US citizenship. Stewart’s career continued to soar, with singles like “You’re In My Heart” and “Baby Jane”. Over the recent years Stewart has reunited with Wood and they did concerts together with The Faces material and also did an MTV Unplugged Special. Stewart has also done a series of albums called the “Great American Songbook” where he has sung songs from the 1930’s and 1940’s writhen by some of the great song writers of that time, like Irving Berlin, Cole Porter and George and Ira Gershwin.

Rod Stewart is father to 7 children from his former wives and girlfriends, Alana Hamilton, Kelly Emberg, Rachel Hunter and Penny Lancaster.
