The Sprint Center is indoor arena in Kansas City, Missouri, and was opened to the public on October 10, 2007. The first event in the arena was Elton John‘s concert on October 10, 2007. Tina Turner began her tour at the Sprint Center on October 1, 2008, and Jenet Jackson brought her Rock Witchu Tour to the Sprint Center on October 24, 2008. The arena have 18,500 seats, and 72 suites, and will be able to hold 17,297 people for arena football. On the beginning of the 2008 season, the Kansas City Brigade announced that they will move to Sprint Center. The final design of the Sprint Arena was by the Downtown design team, selected in August 2005.

The outside of the arena is glass, and it has state of the art technology that allows Kansas City to draw most concerts touring the US. The only ATM in the arena is UMB Bank. The founding partners are Farmland, The University of Kansas Hospital, QuikTrip, and Olevia. The arena houses the headquarters of the National Association of Basketball Coaches and the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame. The visitors can see every event from anywhere in the aena. This year the Big 12 Conference men's basketball tournament will take place here, and the Women's basketball will take place at the nearby Municipal Auditorium.
